Brian Jones is a 39 old proud father of two girls, 3 year old River Lee and 5 year old Forest Rain. He was born in Fredericton, NB and continues to live here. He has lived in Fredericton his entire life with the exception of the year he lived in France where he played professional rugby. Below is his professional bio, past accomplishments and future plans.
To give you quick bio on TD Waterhouse Private Investment Advice, Brian opened the office here in Fredericton in November 2005. He previously had spent 6 years with RBC Dominion Securities here in Fredericton and was member of their Presidents club from 2000 - 2003. In 2003/2004, he was named Advisor of the Year by Advisor Magazine. In 2005, he was named Associate Portfolio Manager, and upon joining TD Waterhouse PIA, was named Branch Manager and Vice President. Currently he is 39. In addition in 2006 his TD Waterhouse Branch was named as runner up branch of the year. There mission statement is "nowhere to everywhere"
Brian graduated in 1994 with Bachelor of Arts majoring in Military History and Economics from UNB Fredericton. He has a Professional Financial Planning designation; is a CIM (Canadian Investment Manager) and a FMA (Financial Management Advisor). In addition to these designations, he is a Fellow in the Canadian Securities Institute and is a member of the Securities Industry Institute in the USA at the Wharton School of Business. He has also recently completed the Ch.P Strategic Wealth Course. This is the highest designation that can be achieved through the Canadian Securities Institute, as well as the Negotiation Essentials course at Norte Dame University.
He has had articles written in several magazines, the Globe and Mail and has been on the Business News Network's (formerly ROB-TV) Money Talk hosted by Patricia Lovett-Reid.
In NB, he is currently on the District Council for the IROC in New Brunswick, and the TD Waterhouse manager advisory Council. He is also actively involved in the community of Fredericton. He is a member of the Loyalist Rugby Club and in fact was the first person from New Brunswick to sign a professional Rugby contract in France in 1994. He still plays rugby and several other sports recreationally. He has also been on several Boards and fundraisers. The latest being his climb to Mount Kilimanjaro which raised over $23,000 for South Devon School. He was the chair for the Green Matters Campaign for TD, which provided over 15,000 CFL light bulbs to the city of Fredericton. In November 2006 he chaired the Bruno Bobak Roast, which rose over $50,000 for the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. This was the largest fundraiser in the history of the Gallery. In 2008 he was the first New Brunswicker to ski to the North Pole to raise money for Science East and raise environmental awareness here in the province. As well bring awareness and support of Fredericton's goal to be first city in NA to reach Kyoto protocols. All in support of this he has sponsored and created an annual essay contest for the last two years in partnership with the City’s green matters campaign. In the fall of 2008 he chaired both the Water Gretzky golf, and dinner and auction which raised over $50,000 for the CNIB. In 2009 this year’s charity will be Autism. The campaign kicked off in Pamplona Spain where Jeff Thompson, Steven Burns and Brian, ran with the bulls. The campaign will continue in October with the “Amazing race for Autism” where Brian will attempt to complete an ultra marathon, 250KM in 6 days across the Sahara dessert in Egypt. The goal of the race is to raise awareness for the Environment and promote the Gala diner “Oscars for Autism” in November where the goal is to raise awareness and funds for autism. ..
TDBFG in Fredericton will be a busy place in 2009, going from "nowhere to everywhere". With there focus on there clients, and supporting the youth, education, physical fitness and the environment. TDBFG will begin the growth progress in Fredericton which will soon spread across NB, Atlantic Canada and beyond.
